The Oregon Republican Party hosted a sold-out Reagan Dinner Gala on Saturday, November 1, 2025, drawing hundreds of Republicans, community leaders, and elected officials from across the state for an evening of inspiration, unity, and determination to restore safety, prosperity, and accountability to Oregon.
Organizing and leading the event was ORP National Committeeman Dan Mason. His outstanding leadership and vision brought together Republicans from around the state in a powerful demonstration of momentum and shared purpose heading into the 2026 election cycle.
U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R–OK), delivered the evening’s keynote address, a message of faith, perseverance, and courage in leadership that set a compelling tone for the evening. Oregon Congressman Cliff Bentz showed up via video from Washington DC and gave an inspiring message. Additional featured speakers Chris Dudley, former NBA player and 2010 Oregon gubernatorial candidate, and Chael Sonnen, Oregon native, business leader, and former UFC star brought energy and passion to the stage, urging Republicans to stand tall and fight for a better future for Oregon.
Among other Republican speakers, gubernatorial candidates Christine Drazan and Danielle Bethell shared visions for Oregon’s future. Oregon Senate Minority Leader Bruce Starr and Oregon House Minority Leader Lucetta Elmer brought messages of determination and hope. Dozens of engaged young Republicans actively mixed and conversed with seasoned Republican leaders and grassroots volunteers. Podcaster and conservative influencer David Medina also fired up the crowd. The evening reflected a growing sense of unity, energy, and readiness among Oregon Republicans to turn the state around.
“Oregon families are struggling. Every major indicator — from public safety to education to affordability — shows our state is in decline under one-party rule,” said Connie Whelchel, Chair of the Oregon Republican Party. “But Republicans are united, motivated, and ready to rescue this state and make Oregon great again. The momentum we saw at the Reagan Dinner proves that change is coming.”
A major focus of the evening was the urgent effort to stop the $4.3 billion tax hike pushed by Governor Tina Kotek and the Democrats, and resoundingly opposed by Oregonians. Republican leaders are working with others in the state to lead a referendum petition campaign to refer the measure to the November 2026 ballot for Oregon voters to decide. Governor Kotek continues to delay the process by refusing to sign the bill, a tactic that shortens the time available for citizens to gather signatures.
“Governor Kotek’s delay is an attempt to silence Oregonians,” Whelchel said. “But we will not be deterred. Republicans across the state are ready to hit the ground running, collect signatures, and stop this tax hike at the ballot box.”

The 2025 Reagan Dinner Gala reaffirmed the growing strength and resolve of Oregon Republicans — a movement grounded in common sense, compassion, and fiscal responsibility.
“Our state deserves better,” Whelchel added. “From rural Oregon to our cities, people are ready for new leadership — and Republicans are ready to lead.”
The Oregon Republican Party extends its gratitude to Dan Mason for his exceptional leadership in organizing this year’s event, and to all the speakers, volunteers, and attendees who made it a tremendous success.
