Repeal and Replace of Broken Obamacare Started - Better Healthcare Coming Says Oregon GOP Chair
Wilsonville, OR– Oregon Republican Party Chairman Bill Currier issued this statement tonight today regarding the new healthcare bill introduced in the House of Representatives.
“We welcome the beginning of the process to repeal and replace the broken healthcare law known as Obamacare,” said Currier. “We look forward to vigorous debate in Congress that will yield a new patient and doctor centered system that produces quality, affordable healthcare.
"Democrats broke the healthcare system and left it spiraling downward into failure, despite many in their party recognizing the serious problems it had," noted Chair Currier. “Today many Americans face massive rate increases, skyrocketing deductibles, loss of their chosen doctors, and fewer choices as health insurers flee the collapsing Obamacare system.”
"President Trump and Republicans in Congress are acting now to ensure not only that Obamacare is repealed, but also replaced by a system that promises choice and affordability, and puts patients and doctors back in charge. The proposed plan also decentralizes control out of Washington D.C. in favor of empowering the states to find solutions that work for their citizens.”
"Democrat leaders have chosen to ignore Obamacare’s problems and have refused to work together to replace it because politics matters more to them than solving America’s problems," added Currier. “Of course, now those same Democrat leaders are terrified that President Trump and Republicans might actually succeed at fixing the same problems Democrats created.”
"They have chosen the same hyper-partisan path that led to passage of the disastrous Obamacare law without any Republican support in the first place. They have chosen to defend the indefensible lies: “lower costs”, “keep your doctor” and “keep your plan”. We can only hope that some will come to their senses and put great healthcare for Americans First."
