AUDIT: Kate Brown Failing Foster Kids?
Wilsonville, OR – A new report is raising further questions about Governor Kate Brown’s ability to manage state government, with an audit by Secretary of State Dennis Richardson revealing massive problems in the state’s foster care system.
The East Oregonian explains that according to the new report, Oregon’s foster care system “has been ‘slow, indecisive and inadequate’ in addressing chronic and well-documented problems,” posing “a risk to kids’ safety.” The audit notes that in 2015, Kate Brown requested an independent review of the state’s foster care system. Shockingly, Brown “hasn’t implemented those recommendations, which said the agency needed to fix ‘foundational issues’ as well as ‘operational problems.’”
“This is further evidence of a troubling pattern of negligence by Kate Brown. From scandal and overpayments at the Oregon Health Authority to dismal school rankings, Brown has mismanaged state government and failed the basic tests of leadership,” said Oregon GOP Chairman Bill Currier.
“This new report underscores exactly why we need to replace Kate Brown this year.”
